Ma’am Confused about Federal Debt

In an interview with MSNBC, Barbara Boxer spoke out of both sides of her mouth when it came to addressing the national debt.

On one hand, she said in reference to the President’s proposal to freeze discretionary spending (which will chop a whole $15 billion of a projected $1.35 trillion projected deficit) not only does she not favor an across the board freeze on spending but rather that “the president can use the scalpel and look at some of the things.”

Then just minutes later, she goes on to say that she thinks “the American people are concerned about the debt,” and that she also thinks “it’s good for people to know that the long term debt’s a problem to us.”

To be fair, she has a point. The Obama-inspired, Boxer-backed $15 billion attempt to address the multi-trillion dollar national debt does show the American people that the debt is a long-term problem for the country…and it also shows the American people that neither her, nor the President, have any serious plan or intention of doing a thing to fix it.
